Located on the stunning west coast of Waiheke Island, Cable Bay Vineyards grew from a vision to hand-craft outstanding wines from the highest quality fruit, grown in small lot vineyards. Our first vineyard was planted on Waiheke Island in 1998 with Chardonnay and Bordeaux varieties. Now we grow more than 10 different varieties from Waiheke.

You enter a quiet area with seatings at wine barrels, and are introduced to 4 wines at a leisurely pace. The host describes the wines to you and you are also given a sheet with tasting notes. Then you are left to enjoy the flavours and aromas.

Specialties: The Bend Wine Bar and Winery Tasting Room in the Box Factory features local Oregon and Washington Wines. Our wines are handcrafted, small batch ferments from vineyard to bottle. We exclusively pour our wines from The Winery at Manzanita on the Oregon Coast and source the majority of our grapes from our vineyard in the Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Black Dog Vineyard.

Cable Bay is a self-sufficient producer that uses fruit from their estate-owned vineyards on Waiheke Island and Marlborough to produce premium wines. Cable Bay planted their first vineyard on the western side of Waiheke Island in 1998 and made their first Chardonnay in 2002, which went on to win a gold medal at the International Wine Challenge in London.
